Utilizing new dental technology allows us to provide more comfortable and efficient diagnostic and treatment options. Certain advances have also decreased appointment and treatment time, allowing for same-day treatments in most cases.
Our Advanced Technology
Digital Dental Radiographs
Using the advanced technology of digital radiographs (x-rays) for dentistry allows us to reduce exposure to radiation and provide more comfortable diagnostic procedures. Once the images have been taken, we can project them on a screen, allowing us to better evaluate your oral health.
Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral cameras allow us to take clear images of a patient’s mouth, aiding in the detection and prevention of oral conditions. It also allows for improved patient education and communication while discussing conditions and necessary treatments. At Steve Horne, DDS, we use the Digi Doc intraoral camera.
Biolase EpicX Laser Technology
Advanced laser technology has allowed dentists to provide more efficient, comfortable and safe treatments. The Biolase EpicX allows Dr. Horne to perform soft tissue surgery, teeth whitening, and even pain therapy quicker than ever before and with less discomfort for the patient.
CEREC Same-Day Dentistry
Our advanced CEREC technology allows our Encinitas dentist to accurately design and fabricate dental restorations for a variety of dental conditions. These restorations look, feel and function just like natural teeth and can be used for veneers, crowns, bridges and even inlays or onlays.
Invisalign
Invisalign allows us to provide more comfortable and appealing orthodontic treatments for patients that are looking to improve teeth positioning. Custom aligners are fabricated to be worn during treatment.
Teeth Whitening
Many over-the-counter teeth whitening options can take months to provide results and contain chemicals known to cause tooth sensitivity in patients. At Steve Horne, DDS, our Colgate Optic White teeth whitening treatment can provide quicker results without the discomfort.

Oraverse is the latest in advanced technology offered here at Dr. Steve Horne’s office.
